Serrated Steel Grating Introduction:
AGICO supplies serrated steel gratings made by welding flat bars with a serrated surface. In addition to possessing the characteristics and applications of flat steel gratings, serrated steel gratings also have strong anti-slip capabilities, making them particularly suitable for wet and slippery environments, such as offshore oil platforms.
Serrated steel gratings are normally hot-dip galvanized for excellent rust resistance. These products can be used for hinge connections in water channel covers and frames, providing theft prevention, safety, and convenient access.
Serrated Bar Grating Galvanizing
There are 2 types of galvanized serrated bar grating to note for distinction: hot-dip galvanized and electro-galvanized. Galvanization involves coating the steel grating with a layer of zinc to protect it from corrosion. Both methods provide effective corrosion protection for the steel grating, but hot-dip galvanization generally offers a thicker and more durable coating due to the metallurgical bond formed between the zinc and the steel.

- In hot-dip galvanization, the steel grating is dipped into a molten bath of zinc at high temperatures. The zinc ingots are melted and mixed with auxiliary materials, and the steel grating is immersed into the galvanizing bath. The molten zinc forms a metallurgical bond with the steel components, creating a protective zinc coating.
- Electro-galvanization is a process where a thin layer of zinc is electroplated onto the surface of the steel grating. The grating acts as the cathode and zinc ions are reduced and deposited onto its surface, forming a protective zinc coating.
Serrated Steel Gratings Parts:

- Flat Steel: The common material used is Q235, and the standard sizes include 253, 255, 303, 305, 323, 325, 403, 404, 405, 503, 505, 605, 705, and others. Longitudinally sheared flat steel or steel plate cut into strips are mainly used.
- Serrated Flat Steel: The serrated flat steel has the same sizes as the flat steel but with uneven teeth on one side. This feature enhances slip resistance.
- I-shaped Flat Steel: This type of flat steel has thicker sides and a thinner middle section.
- Twisted Square Steel: Also known as twisted square bar or twisted rebar, it is typically available in sizes like 5×5, 6×6, and 8×8. The steel is twisted to create a textured pattern.
