The crossbars of the press lock steel grating are typically made of carbon flat steel, stainless steel, or brass plates, which are pressed into the supporting flat steel with a powerful force of 200 tons. The nodes between the flat steel bars are automatically locked by the extrusion force generated during deformation. The crossbars of the pressure-locked steel grating usually consist of flat steel. Due to its structure being inserted vertically in two directions, the steel grating provides better lateral (width-wise) load-bearing capacity and effectively prevents tilting and instability issues caused by large-sized supporting flat steel. Press-locked steel grating is particularly suitable for use as a heavy-duty load-bearing grating. It encompasses the high strength, corrosion resistance, and maintenance-free characteristics of welded steel grating while also possessing the features of uniform and precise combination, lightweight and exquisite structure, natural harmony, and elegant style.

The press lock steel grating is manufactured through processes such as slotting (punching), insertion, welding, and finishing using flat steel of specific dimensions, including low-carbon flat steel, stainless steel, brass, and aluminum plates. The product has firm welds, uniform hole spacing, and an attractive design, making it convenient and practical. Press lock grating has the high strength, corrosion resistance, and maintenance-free characteristics of ordinary steel grating while also possessing the features of uniform and precise combination, lightweight and exquisite structure, natural harmony, and elegant style. It serves both as a functional product and an art piece and has gained widespread applications.

4 Types of Press Lock Steel Grating:

  1. Press-lock steel grating: The supporting flat steel is slotted, and the crossbars are pressed and locked into shape. Typically, the maximum processing height for producing regular steel gratings is 100mm. The length of the steel grating is usually less than 2000mm.
  2. Heavy-duty press lock grating: It is a type of steel grating product in which high flat steel and crossbars are interlocked and tightly pressed under a pressure of 1200 tons. It is suitable for applications with high span and heavy loads.
  3. Integral inserted steel grating: The supporting flat steel and crossbars of integral inserted steel grating have the same height, with a slot depth equal to half the depth of the supporting flat steel. The height of the steel grating does not exceed 100mm, and its length is typically less than 2000mm.
  4. Sunshade-inserted steel grating: The supporting flat steel of sunshade-inserted steel grating has slanted slots at 30° or 45°, and the crossbars are slotted and locked into shape. Grid panels with various spacing and specifications can be produced using materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The height of the grating is less than 100mm.

Pressure-locked steel gratings are widely used in civil and commercial construction, theaters, subways, light rail, and other municipal engineering projects. They can be used for suspended ceilings, interior and exterior decoration, platform walkways, ventilation windows, well covers, signage, and various covers, among other applications.
