Compound Steel Grating Production:

According to the ISO industrial platform standards, it is explicitly stated that liquid should not be accumulated on industrial platforms, except in special circumstances. However, in some special situations (such as pedestrian overpasses), some platforms require the absence of voids. To meet this requirement, By welding patterned steel plates on the front or bottom surface, it can prevent small objects from falling, this is why compound steel grating has been designed and developed.

Compound steel grating is produced by welding checkered metal plate onto metal steel grating, heat from welding could lead to deformation.

Application of Compound Steel Grating:

Compound steel grating is widely used in various fields such as power plants, chemical plants, oil refineries, steel mills, paper mills, machinery factories, cement plants, municipal engineering, wastewater treatment plants, municipal engineering, sanitation projects, etc., It is used as platforms, walkways, gangways, trench covers, manhole covers, ladders, and others.

Compound steel grating is commonly used with series 3 steel grating as the base plate, but series 1 or series 2 can be used as the base plate according to customer requirements. The  compound steel grating has advantage compared with ordinary steel gratings,  by welding steel mesh on the front or bottom surface of the steel grating, which can prevent small objects from falling. When used in granaries, restaurants, and warehouses, the compound steel grating panel can prevent small animals such as mice from entering.

Features of Compound Steel Grating:

• High strength, lightweight structure, strong corrosion resistance, and durability.
• Aesthetically pleasing with a shiny surface, and it does not accumulate dirt. It does not accumulate rain, snow, or water, self-cleans, and is easy to maintain.
• Provides ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, anti-slip properties, and explosion resistance. It is also easy to install and dismantle.

Compound Steel Grating Installation Methods:

• Weld the steel grating or tread plate directly to the supporting steel structure, and apply two coats of zinc-rich paint at the welds.
• Use specialized installation clips from AGICO, which do not damage the galvanized coating and are easy to install and remove. Each set of clips includes an upper clip, lower clip, M8 round head bolt, and nut.
• Stainless steel clips or bolt connections can be provided as alternative fastening methods, depending on the requirements.
• The recommended installation gap for steel grating is generally 100mm.
• During installation, ensure a secure and reliable installation and regularly inspect to prevent loosening or detachment of the clips. It is advisable to weld or use rubber pads for steel grating in close proximity to vibrations.
